Founded by 16op001 Carl in Oosterhout, Belgium on the 5th of August 1981 the OP group is one of the oldest 11m groups in the world.
The Orient Pirate Radio Group does not follow the convention of other groups looking for world domination. There is no president, no money-making pyramid schemes/QSL managers, no hierarchy, no vanity call signs, no yearly subscriptions and above all no dictatorship rules!

OP is simply a collective of ‘radio friends’ from around the world who operate as a team with one simple goal: -

To promote radio, create radio friendships and to help fellow OP members.

There is NO membership fee to join The Orient Pirate Group and there is a maximum of 6 new members each year.
Memberships are made by OP members worldwide on a ‘recommendation only’* basis.
Please actively find an OP member ON AIR if you are interested in joining OP and ask for recommendation.

*Recommendation will be vetted by the Orient Pirate Radio Group Collective before an OP membership is granted.

 
The Orient Pirate Radio Group holds yearly meetings* both nationally and internationally.
Events include a real xxOP000 Club Station, restaurant meal, Bring & Buy Sale, BBQ, raffle, music, etc.
